The Lions Club of Kapiti are providing workers and students in Wellington the opportunity in the case of a disaster to prepare for the long walk home. This event is to run over two days, the 10th and 11th of November 2018. Day 1 is from Wellington to the Ngatitoa Domain at Mana and Day 2 from Ngatitoa Domain to Raumati. This project has the support and backing of Lions Clubs, emergency services and Wellington and Kapiti Coast Councils.

Helpful Notes: Walk Information

-The approximate 50km walk from Wellington to Raumati (Over 2 days ) is organised by the Lions Club of Kapiti along with help from other Wellington region Lions Clubs.
-The distance to be covered on each day is approximately 25km.
-The estimated time for each leg of the walk is between 5-7 hours.
-Day 1 report in outside main entrance Wellington Railway Station before 0815 for the briefing for a start time of 0830. The briefing is mandatory for all walkers
-Day 2 report to Ngatitoa Domain Mana before 0815 for the briefing for a start tme of 0830.The briefing is mandatory for all walkers.
-Online Entry at opens on the 5th September and closes on the 3rd November 2018
-Registration will be able to be completed at Wellington Railway station on the 10th of November before 08.15 if the entry limit has not been met.
-Briefings on both day one and two will be held at 0815 at the walk starting points.
-The course will be well marshalled by Lions and course details will be provided at the briefings and a walk map .
-Roads will be open to traffic so please follow the instructions given at the briefings and follow instructions given by the Lions marshalls.
-If you have a problem on the walk and can not continue you must contact a Lions marshall. If you see another person in need of help, please provide assistance and advise the nearest marshal.
-The emergency 111 call line will be used for A and E services.

Special Rules: -Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult
-Unfortunately NO dogs allowed
-High Vis vests are provided and are to be worn by all walkers
