Helpful Notes: RACE INFORMATION

Race Headquarters/Race Pack Collection
Race Headquarters is the Quality Hotel Plymouth International, Cnr Leach and Courtenay Streets, New Plymouth.
Race Instructions, race numbers,timing transponders and late entries will be available there from 4pm to 8pm Friday 5 March 2010.
If arriving after 8pm Friday please collect race packs at hotel reception.

Age Limit
Persons under 18 years of age entering either event must provide a letter of consent from parent/guardian.

Team Eligibility
No competitor to take part in full marathon and teams event.
Each team member must complete an entry form.
Team entries must be sent in together.
Placing to be judged on aggregate team time.
Total marathon time only will be recorded.
Refer to classes section for category details.

Walking Etiquette
Walkers are welcome to compete in either event and are eligible for all spot prizes.
To save embarrassment for all, if you intend to run/walk or walk/run, please enter as a runner or running team. Walking scrutineers will be on the course.
Walkers will be required to wear reflective gear for the first hour of their event.

Getting to the Event
It is recommended that competitors do not take their vehicles to the start.
Free buses will transport competitors to race start, leaving the Quality Hotel Plymouth International at 5:30am for walkers and 6:45am for runners.
Free buses will also take first team members from Inglewood to race start leaving the Inglewood Band Rotunda at 5:45am for walkers and 7:00am for runners.
Transport is not provided for second team members to Inglewood changeover point.
A gear van will be provided to take gear back to the finish.
Competitors are fully responsible for security of their personal belongings at the event.
Vehicles will not be allowed past Kaimiro Hall (4km from start) after 7:30am.
It is recommended that competitors utilise the free buses provided.

Toilet Facilities
Toilet facilities will be available at the start, half way, 37.5km and finish.

Water and Aid Stations
Water stops are located at 4km, 9km, 14.5km, 19.4km, 21.1km, 25km, 27.5km, 30km, 32.5km, 34km, 37.5km and 40.1km (approximately).
Sqwincer will be available at 9km, 14.5km, 19.4km, 21.1 (half marathon finish only), 25km, 30km, 34km and finish.

Official Timekeeping
Official timing finishes at 1:30pm.
Any entrant expecting to take longer than this time must make their own back-up arrangements.
A $50 charge will be incurred for non return or damage of timing transponders

Transport from Finish
Transport will be provided to take competitors from Marine Park, Waitara to the Quality Hotel Plymouth International.

Cancellation Policy
The marathon committee reserve the right to cancel the race if any Act of God or any occurrence beyond their control occurs, affecting the safe running of the event. Entrants will be refunded a proportion of their entry fee after costs have been covered.

Refunds
No refunds will be made unless the request is in writing by 26 February 2010. Refunds will be made less $10.00 for administration costs.

Prizegiving
Prizegiving will be held at New Plymouth Boys' High School, Coronation Avenue, New Plymouth at 4:00pm.
All finishers qualify for major spot prizes.
Minor spot prizes will be pre-drawn and winners will be notified in their race pack.
The marathon committee have absolute discretion in awarding all prizes and awards.

Happy Hour
At the conclusion of prizegiving participants and their supporters are invited to a mix and mingle happy hour at the Autolodge Motor Inn, 393 Devon Street East, New Plymouth.

Special Rules: TERMS, CONDITIONS AND DECLARATION
  1. I acknowledge that a competitive marathon/half marathon can involve risk of serious injury or even death from various causes including over exertion, dehydration, course or weather conditions, accidents with other competitors, spectators or road users and other causes.
  2. I understand that I should not compete in this event unless I have trained appropriately and had any health concerns checked by a medical practitioner.
  3. I consent to receiving any medical treatment at my own cost (if any) that the event organisers think necessary during or after the event.
  4. I will inform the race organisers of medical or physical conditions from which I suffer that might affect my performance or be relevant if medical treatment is needed.
  5. By competing, I accept all risks flowing from my participation which could result in permanent injury or loss of life.
  6. I acknowledge that safety precautions undertaken by the event organisers (such as course supervision and race safety briefings) are a service to me but are not a guarantee of safety.
  7. I hereby release the race director, volunteers, sponsors or any party associated with the event of any liability, financial or otherwise, which might arise (whether or not by negligence), including any direct or indirect loss, injury or death which might be sustained by me or any other party directly or indirectly associated with me, from my intended or actual participation in the event or its related activities.
  8. I consent to the event organisers using my name, image and likeness before, during or after the event for event promotional, broadcasting or reporting purposes in all media
  9. I have read and agree to all the safety information, rules and conditions above and that accompany my entry
